Job Summary
Perform diagnostic and interventional angiography procedures in cardiac, vascular, and electrophysiology labs under cardiologist direction. Execute daily start-up and quality control for imaging equipment and PACS systems. Prepare work areas by setting up accessory equipment such as contrast media injectors, OCT, IVUS, and ICE, then orientate users on operating and safety protocols. Communicate with patients and staff regarding procedures, consent, and allergies. Input and annotate patient data, supply usage, and image sequences into digital imaging systems. Verify proper transfer of digital images to PACS. Provide instruction to trainees and student technologists on procedures and techniques. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues to the supervisor or service engineer. Manage supply and equipment inventory within established policies. Participate in staff meetings and assist with updating procedure manuals.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a recognized school of medical imaging
- Two (2) years of recent related experience
- Certified by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
- Physical capability to perform duties required for the position
