Job Summary
Catering Sales Manager accountable for generating and growing catering business in corporate markets for The Blackstone Hotel in Chicago. Responsibilities include prospecting new clients via phone, email and local outside sales calls; maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients; conducting property tours and site inspections; coordinating event details (BEOs) with the Banquet staff; building referrals through competitive-set and industry events; meeting budgeted catering goals (food, beverage, room rental, A/V) and providing monthly forecasts. Must effectively communicate with clients and internal teams, lead sales calls, respond to leads within 24 hours, and create tailored programs to meet client needs while ensuring customer satisfaction. Reqs include strong communication skills, ability to negotiate and sell, willingness to lead a team, and familiarity with event planning and hospitality operations.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to negotiate, sell and influence clients and professionals
- Experience in outside sales, prospecting, and client relationship management
- Ability to develop marketing plans and menus/programs for events
- Knowledge of hospitality industry and hotel environment
- Capable of detailing events (BEO) and coordinating with banquet staff
- Team leadership and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with basic computer systems/Microsoft Office
