Catering Sales Manager

Job Summary
Drive sales efforts and execution for meeting and event space held in the hotel, assisting the sales team in meeting or exceeding budgeted financial targets and assigned monthly sales goals. Conduct weekly sales calls to existing and new accounts, uncover new business, and generate leads through internet searches, telephone solicitations, mailings, and networking. Build and strengthen relationships with accounts, arrange site inspections, and respond to all sales inquiries within 24 business hours. Execute operational aspects of booked business by generating proposals, writing contracts, and negotiating catering sales contracts while actively upselling events to maximize revenue. Analyze market trends to develop strategies for function space occupancy and partner with the operations team to coordinate customer specifications, menu planning, and event setups. Supervise banquet event execution, including weekends and holidays, and maintain accurate sales records in the hotel system.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 years of experience in catering sales in a full-service hotel
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including leading and participating in formal presentations
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to cultivate leads, build relations, and close the deal
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer skills
- Microsoft Office
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong desire to deliver high quality of customer service
- Detail oriented and organized as it pertains to accuracy and efficiency
- Good personnel and management and organizational skills
- Knowledge in catering food and beverage service
- Knowledge in event set ups and audio-visual equipment
- Experience in coordinating weddings and social events
- Must be flexible to work long and irregular hours, including some weekends and evenings
- Will be required to work onsite at the hotel
