Job Summary
Catering Sales Manager responsible for developing and fostering Group and Catering business for the hotel, managing pre-event, event, and post-event details, forecasting group revenue, and achieving sales/activity goals. Requires experience in catering/hotel sales, strong client-relations and negotiation skills, proficiency with hotel sales systems (Delphi, Opera, CI/TY), and the ability to coordinate with culinary, banquet, conference services, and operations teams. Emphasizes luxury hospitality standards, contract and BEO management, revenue forecasting, and delivering personalized service within a fast-paced environment. Location-based on Calgary, AB, on-site schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering sales, event sales, hotel sales, or luxury hospitality management.
- A Hospitality, Tourism or Events program graduate or degree holder.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and successfully managing corporate, social, wedding, and group catering events.
- Strong knowledge of luxury hospitality standards, banquet operations, catering services, and event execution.
- Exceptional sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with a strong focus on client satisfaction and revenue generation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to confidently conduct client meetings, site tours, and event presentations.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts, proposals, contracts, and event timelines simultaneously.
- Experience preparing catering contracts, banquet event orders (BEOs), event resumes, and revenue forecasts.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate client needs while delivering personalized service experiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using hotel sales and catering systems such as Delphi, Opera, CI/TY, or similar platforms preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with culinary, banquet, conference services, and operations teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting revenue, and maximizing profitability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
- The flexibility to work varying schedules as required by the needs of the business and timing of events, which could include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physically able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.
