Job Summary
Lead all catering functions and contribute to broader kitchen operations by preparing proteins like wild game, seafood, and poultry using various kitchen equipment. Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, nutritious offerings while managing inventory, adhering to strict food safety standards, and maintaining sanitary workstations. Supervise and mentor culinary staff, assist with menu development, and support daily menu planning through supervisor meetings. Uphold portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen policies to ensure cost-effective service. This role operates in a high-volume industrial kitchen environment on the UAA campus, requiring independent work, a valid driver's license, and English proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler's Card or ServSafe Certification
- Must be able to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner
- Knowledge and training in using a variety of food production equipment
- Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years
- Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Three (3) years of Cook or Sous Chef experience
