Job Summary
Category Specialist responsible for end-to-end procurement and sourcing across assigned categories. Drive category management and strategic sourcing, manage supplier relationships, contracts, and performance, coordinate ERP/WMS data, and support demand planning and logistics to ensure cost-effective, reliable supply. Key duties include developing sourcing strategies, supplier selection and negotiations, monitoring supplier performance against KPIs, managing purchase orders and inventory transactions, maintaining item master and pricing data, expediting orders, mitigating supply risks, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Required strengths include strong commercial acumen, negotiation and contract management, stakeholder management, analytical problem-solving, and experience with ERP/inventory systems. Nice-to-have qualifications include a tertiary degree in a related discipline and at least four years in procurement or category management, with exposure to renewables or technology industries. The role supports flexible working options including hybrid arrangements and is based in Sydney or Melbourne with corporate offices in Australia.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, category management or supply chain operations
- Strong supplier negotiation and contract management capabilities
- Experience working with ERP, inventory management or procurement systems
- Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver cost savings and process improvements
- Minimum four years' experience in a similar procurement, sourcing or category management role
- Experience within renewables, or technology-related industries
- Exposure to warehouse, logistics or inventory management environments
- Nice to have: Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Commerce or a related discipline
