Job Summary
Category Purchaser for Hydraulics, Pneumatics & Electrical components, leading Valmet’s global spare parts procurement across the Pulp, Energy & Circularity, Packaging, and Tissue sectors. Responsibilities include executing global procurement activities, monitoring purchase orders for cost efficiency and on-time delivery, managing price agreements, performing spend analysis, leading annual price negotiations, defining supply strategies with cross-functional teams, implementing long-term cost-saving initiatives (Design-to-Cost), supporting supplier development, providing data to sales and bids, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and staying informed on industry trends. Requires 3 years in a similar role with an engineering/commercial background, strong analytical and negotiation skills, proficiency with ERP systems (Infor LN, SAP, Oracle), English fluency, and a driving license. Remote work is possible with time-zone differences.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or bachelor's degree in engineering or commercial field
- 3 years of working experience in a similar procurement role
- Background in Hydraulics and Pneumatics is advantageous
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- Strong ability to influence in a global matrix organization
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Infor LN, SAP, Oracle; Infor LN preferable)
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Driving license
