Job Summary
Principal Category Specialist defines overarching category strategies for high-spend, high-complexity categories; negotiates major contracts, leads supplier negotiations, mentors peers, and acts as SME for category management. Responsibilities include developing requirements with customer SMEs, traveling to meet vendors and field personnel, supporting procurement teams to execute category strategies, and providing strategic guidance to category manager leadership. Requires strong contracting knowledge, ability to lead meetings and communicate with executive leadership, and the capacity to operate with minimal oversight.
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 6+ years
