Job Summary
Category Manager role leading category strategy, product lifecycle management, and vendor/relationship management for an HVAC/plumbing/electrical supplies e-commerce business. Own assortment decisions, drive category performance through data-driven analyses, ROI assessments, and market/customer insights. Lead cross‐functional initiatives with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance; shape pricing, promotions, and educational strategies; support first‐to‐market product positioning and continuous growth. Remote position available to candidates in the listed U.S. states, with periodic travel to Melville, NY for internal meetings; standard schedule 8–5 local time with time-zone flexibility. Requires 5+ years in merchandising/category management and a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and strong Excel/retail systems expertise; prior remote‐team leadership and ability to operate in a high-growth environment are important. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, and product development
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel and retail systems
- Experience in leading remote team members
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills
- Critical and creative thinking skills in dealing with an everchanging environment
- Statistical analysis and data manipulation skills
- Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while remaining flexible in a high growth environment
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team setting
