Job Summary
Develop and implement strategic category plans aligned with organizational priorities, demand forecasts, and whole-of-life cost considerations. Build sourcing pipelines and partner with specialists to deliver go-to-market initiatives while identifying opportunities to improve spend, demand management, and procurement compliance. Manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical, and supply chain risks across assigned categories. Provide expert procurement advice to senior stakeholders and influence decisions across portfolios and colleges to support RMIT's $420 million annual expenditure on goods and services.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading complex category and vendor management activities
- Strong track record of delivering sustainable commercial outcomes
- Strong commercial acumen
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers and cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical capability
- Sound knowledge of relevant procurement categories
- Ability to quickly develop category expertise
- Appointment subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check
- Appointment subject to undertaking relevant pre-employment background checks
