Category Manager - Resin

Job Summary
Lead and execute end-to-end strategic sourcing and category management for the resin procurement. Manage a spend of ~$21M+ and support operations across multiple manufacturing sites in the Americas. Develop and implement category strategies to optimize supplier base, drive cost savings, and reduce single-source dependencies. Manage supplier relationships, performance tracking, risk assessments, and mitigation plans; negotiate multi-million-dollar contracts ensuring favorable terms and long-term value. Drive cross-functional projects with operations, quality, and finance to align procurement with business needs and ensure supply continuity; contribute to supplier quality management and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong project management and collaboration skills, with knowledge of RFQs, cost analysis, benchmarking, and value engineering. Industry experience in pharma, medical devices, or food manufacturing is highly preferred. Requires willingness to travel 10–25% globally.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (engineering, supply chain, business, or similar) or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in resin procurement or a related category
- Strong negotiation skills with experience managing high-value contracts
- Knowledge of RFQs, cost breakdown analysis, benchmarking, value analysis, and value engineering
- Ability to work in a global, matrixed organization and influence stakeholders
- Experience in supplier risk management and continuous improvement methodologies
- Fluency in English (written and verbal)
