Job Summary
The Category Manager leads strategic sourcing, contracts, supplier relationships, and continuous improvement for categories supporting gas engine power generation equipment across multiple US manufacturing sites. Responsibilities include: developing and executing category strategies focused on total cost of ownership for mechanical, electrical, fuel-system, and ancillary components; leading strategic sourcing processes (market analysis, RFx design and execution, supplier selection, commercial evaluation, and implementation); negotiating and managing master agreements, long-term supply contracts, and service agreements with defined KPIs, SLAs, and risk clauses; owning supplier relationship management with performance reviews, corrective actions, development plans, scorecards, and escalation; driving continuous improvement with suppliers and internal stakeholders to reduce cost, improve quality, shorten lead times, and improve first-pass yield; collaborating with engineering, operations, quality, logistics, and finance to ensure parts meet manufacturing requirements and change-control processes; managing supplier risk and developing mitigation strategies; leading cross-functional sourcing projects including capital equipment purchases and new product introduction (NPI) sourcing; maintaining spend, savings tracking, and supplier performance metrics with monthly reporting; ensuring compliance with corporate procurement policies, export controls, and relevant regulations; and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university.
