Job Summary
Category Manager leads strategic sourcing, contracts, supplier relationships, and continuous improvement for categories supporting gas engine power generation equipment across multiple US manufacturing sites. This role drives total cost of ownership, supplier risk mitigation, quality, delivery, and first-pass yield; negotiates master agreements and service contracts; manages supplier performance via SRM, scorecards, and escalation; collaborates with engineering, operations, quality, logistics, and finance to ensure parts meet manufacturing requirements and change-control processes; maintains spend and savings metrics and reports to procurement leadership; requires a 4-year degree (Bachelor’s) and 5+ years in procurement/category management within industrial manufacturing or power generation; travel up to 25% and strong negotiation, contract drafting, and data analysis skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field from an accredited university
- 5 years of procurement/category management experience in industrial manufacturing, heavy equipment, or power generation
- 5 years with gas engines or rotating equipment
- Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills with demonstrated ability to secure favorable terms
- Willing to travel up to 25% across US sites and supplier locations
- Willing to consent to and pass a background check and drug screening
