Job Summary
Category Manager - Melons needed to lead current and new account development with Regional and National Retail accounts. Responsibilities include forecasting monthly/quarterly sales activity, managing business development for retail/foodservice/wholesale accounts, executing short and long-term sales goals and strategies, maintaining selling margins, partnering with management to secure new accounts, tracking customer interactions, monitoring market/competitive activity, educating buyers on quality and data reporting, and supporting team needs beyond scope. Requires 5+ years in category management for melons, Bachelor’s degree, proficiency in Outlook/Excel/PowerPoint/Word, and travel at least 20%. Travel-heavy role with preference for South Texas base; remote option available for right candidate. Relocation assistance offered; compensation DOE; benefits include medical, 401K.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5+ years of experience as a Category Manager - Melons
- Prior experience with iTrade and Foodlink preferred
- Proficient in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
