Job Summary
Develop category strategies and curate assortments across non-produce categories to optimize product offerings and drive revenue. Manage vendor relationships to negotiate pricing, ensure quality, and improve delivery timelines while owning the category P&L to hit profit and waste-saving goals. Conduct market research on trends and competitor strategies to inform decisions and collaborate with Inventory Planning, Marketing, and Product Development teams. Support sustainability initiatives, execute key projects, and develop attribute-based storytelling aligned with company objectives. Report directly to the Sr. Director of Category Management. Travel less than 25% for trade shows and offsites.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional industry experience
- Proficiency with G-Suit, Excel, Word and Retail Math
- Travel <25% required to attend Trade shows and team offsites
Desired Qualifications
- 4-6 years grocery retail or Grocery sourcing experience
- Ecommerce or organic/natural food experience
- Buying experience and strong negotiating skills
- Long term strategic and financial planning skills with a solid understanding of P/L statements, general ledgers, and margins
- Strong working knowledge of the food industry with established relationships
- Adaptable to a startup environment. Willing to learn new programs and systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple teams
- Fast on your feet and quick to make thoughtful decisions
