Job Summary
Develop category consumption projections for annual and strategic planning while serving as the authority on future category trends for internal teams and external customers. Leverage shopper, consumer, economic, and retailer insights to create fact-based solutions supporting sales and profit objectives. Deliver well-supported analysis regarding assortment and merchandising recommendations, championing the category vision and strategy process for EPC categories. Align development efforts with marketing and sales strategies to identify market opportunities. Requires a University Business degree, 9+ years of category management experience, and proficiency with Nielsen data and Plan-o-gram software.
Required Qualifications
- University Business degree
- 9+ years of category management or market/consumer analytics experience
- CPG environment experience
- Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheet, database and presentation software
- Experience with Nielsen data (i.e. MarketTrack, Strategic Planner) and Plan-o-gram software
- Strong understanding of the role of insights, analytics and shopper marketing in Category Management
- Experience with category management theory & analysis
- Solid understanding of financial analysis principles
Desired Qualifications
- CPG environment experience
- Knowledge of Numerator, LDIA, Stackline, and/or other Retailer tools
- Prior sales/trade/marketing experience in a CPG environment
- Experience with OMNI/eCommerce insights and trends
- Strong, proactive collaborator comfortable interacting at all levels within the organization
- Team player who thrives in a team-oriented environment
- Solid project management and organizational skills to prioritize and multi-task
- Highly developed analytical, story-telling and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter, able to work independently on projects
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills at all levels both within and outside the organization
