Job Summary
Evaluate vendor order frequency, minimums, and pack sizes to execute daily allocations based on system recommendations. Manage inventory turn by eliminating overstock, duplication, and dead inventory while coordinating new product introductions and rationalization. Analyze sales data to forecast demand, optimize stock levels, and assess promotional outcomes to drive future strategies. Track key performance indicators like sales, margins, and inventory turnover to identify improvement areas and monitor vendor lead times. Collaborate with marketing, store planning, and operations teams to implement category strategies and ensure in-stock levels at the store level. Communicate all correspondence between stores and distribution centers, including seasonal buy targets and action plans.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 Years experience in purchasing and data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
- Understanding of retail operations and merchandising principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Vision adequate for the incumbent to perform the responsibilities and functions of the job efficiently
- Manual dexterity to manually operate and use a computer and other basic office equipment
- Frequent physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, dexterity, and light grasping
- Occasional physical demands include lifting up to 25 lbs., bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs and firmly grasping
- The employee is required to accept incoming calls and must be able to hear and speak
