Job Summary
Catalyst Associate at Marvelous: Drive portfolio growth through onboarding, Proofs of Concepts, and development of corporate partnerships; design and execute industry challenges; manage end-to-end partner relationships and technical validation; organize flagship events (Deep Tech Runway, Industry Challenges) and strengthen presence in the Berlin/European DeepTech ecosystem; support GP priorities with strategic briefings, portfolio reporting, and deal flow activities; collaborate with founders, CTOs, CEOs, and research networks to build the Catalyst ecosystem; work from a Berlin office (in-person) and engage with corporate executives, LPs, and founders on a regular basis.
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of professional experience, preferably including time at an MBB or top-tier strategy consultancy
- experience building open innovation programmes, corporate-startup collaborations, or ecosystems
- ability to structure ambiguity and deliver under pressure
- ability to manage multiple workstreams and events
- strong English communication; German a plus
- based in Berlin or willing to relocate; right to work in the EU without visa sponsorship
- engineering or natural science degree in materials science, mechanical engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, or adjacent fields
- experience publishing research or conducting research stints at leading institutions (Fraunhofer, ETH, Helmholtz, Max Planck)
- startup founding or operational support experience
- ability to automate processes or optimize workflows using AI tools
- affinity for sales
