Job Summary
Perform CT examinations by selecting and modifying technical factors to produce optimum diagnostic images for interpretation while following departmental protocols. Prepare patients for procedures, provide instructions to minimize anxiety, and obtain and document relevant patient history. Operate CT and medical imaging equipment safely, including the administration of contrast materials with Power injector experience preferred. Maintain CT room cleanliness, adhere to infection control standards, and demonstrate awareness of Radiation Safety procedures. Communicate with attending Radiologists to verify orders and prioritize work assignments based on changing situations. Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and safety regulations while performing required Quality Control tasks.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years' experience
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies Advanced registry in CT
- Graduated from an accredited Radiology program
- Licensed by NJ State DEP
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies
- BLS certification
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
- Advanced computer skills including email, Microsoft applications and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS and PACS Systems
- Sound understanding of anatomical positioning, CT protocols, and equipment
- Demonstrates awareness of Radiation Safety procedures for self and others
- General Job functions: Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of safety, OSHA, and HIPPA regulations
- The ability to perform daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual Quality Control
- The ability to use problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Monday–Friday 1:30pm–8:00pm
- Ability to travel to satellite locations as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Power injectors
- IV certified
