Job Summary
Operate CT scanning equipment to produce diagnostic images for patient treatment and anatomic disorder analysis. Arrange patient care under physician supervision while ensuring departmental compliance with accreditation standards and Singing River Health System policies. Maintain BCLS certification and adhere to safety protocols regarding body fluid exposure and infectious disease hazards. Perform duties across all SRHS facilities as a float technician, utilizing computer technology for data comparison and reporting. Work rotating shifts including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 6:00am to 6:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited, state approved, School of Radiologic Technology
- Currently registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Licensed by the Mississippi State Department of Health
- Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer
- A minimum of six (6) months experience in Computerized Tomography Scanning
- Must be able to be active for extended periods without experiencing undue fatigue
- Must be able to work schedules assigned with the understanding that changes are in accordance to the needs of the hospital for off days, shifts or weekends
- Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities
- Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone
- Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels
- Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required
- Must have the ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations
- Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette
- Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word
- Must be able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction
- Must be able to make fine discriminations in sound
- Must have the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Must be able to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area
Desired Qualifications
- CT Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred
- A minimum of six (6) months experience in Computerized Tomography Scanning
