Job Summary
Manipulate computerized tomographical radiological equipment by positioning patients, processing images, and tracking studies for PACS acquisition. Select technical factors to produce optimum quality computerized radiographical images while using radiation protection devices. Perform a variety of duties consistent with providing quality computerized tomographical services. This role requires a graduate of an accredited radiology technology program with at least one year of experience in a CT department. Candidates must be A.R.R.T. registered, state licensed in radiology, and hold current BLS certification. The position involves working 40 hours per week in a rotation of 12-hour shifts (3 on, 1 off, 3 on, 7 off) within a fast-paced environment at St. Tammany Health System in Covington.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program
- A.R.R.T. registered in Radiology
- State licensed in radiology by the LSRT
- CT registered within one (1) year of hire
- Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross
- The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with patients of all types and ages
- Must possess strong guest relations skills
- Must possess good physical health
- Must be able to stand, sit or walk for long periods of time
- Lifting at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year's experience in a CT department with multi-slice technology
