Job Summary
Cat Portfolio Manager responsible for catastrophe risk assessment to guide underwriting decisions for Global Wholesale & Specialty. Lead data-quality initiatives, augment data for enhanced risk understanding, and leverage catastrophe models and analytical tools to identify risk drivers and mitigation strategies. Develop innovative portfolio-management solutions, enhance data analytics capabilities, and create impactful visualizations and narratives to inform senior leadership and influence underwriting strategy. Collaborate with catastrophe modelers and underwriters to evaluate new CAT market opportunities, technologies, and software tools, while communicating complex analytical insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role requires 5-10 years of P&C catastrophe modeling experience, fluency in SQL, and full-cycle development experience in Python, C#, or equivalent languages; strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Base salary range is $134,000–$184,500 with comprehensive benefits; location-based postings include New York, NY and Warren, NJ.”,
Required Qualifications
- 5 - 10 years of P&C experience, working in catastrophe modeling function in Insurance/Reinsurance
- Must be able to write SQL fluently
- Track record of full-cycle development using Python, C#, or other languages to automate data flow and workflow processes across multiple enterprise products
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience explaining complex technical and analytical concepts to business colleagues and senior management
- Excellent problem solver: apply logic and reasoning to identify pros/cons of possible solutions, think through all angles and future implications when making decisions
- A business-oriented focus (motivated, self-directed, organized, and analytical), with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable insights
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
