Job Summary
Manage complex liability and insurance litigation matters involving serious bodily injury, property damage, and coverage disputes. Oversee litigation strategy including pleadings, discovery, mediations, and settlement negotiations while evaluating exposure to develop settlement recommendations. Select, monitor, and evaluate defense counsel across multiple jurisdictions, conducting file audits and maintaining billing guidelines. Provide guidance to adjusters on injury evaluations and medical causation, reviewing medical records and expert opinions to assess claim value. Analyze litigation outcomes to identify risk mitigation opportunities and support training initiatives for claims professionals.
Required Qualifications
- Florida Resident Adjuster's License
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice law
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience within insurance claims, litigation management, corporate legal departments, or litigation law firms
- Experience managing complex, high-severity claim and litigation exposures across multiple states and jurisdictions
- Strong understanding of insurance coverage, defense litigation, and civil litigation procedures
- Proven ability to manage outside counsel and litigation budgets
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office products
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen

Desired Qualifications
- Certified Legal Manager (CLM), Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP), or similar professional designation
- Experience working within property and casualty insurance environments
- Knowledge of multi-state insurance regulations and litigation practices
