Job Summary
Casualty Construction Executive Underwriter responsible for acting as the regional production underwriter for construction casualty accounts (new business and renewals), underwriting construction casualty risks per guidelines, pricing and terms, and building a profitable book through broker and client engagement. Responsibilities include conducting risk analyses, establishing terms and pricing, managing renewal processes, responding to broker/client inquiries with timely quotes and endorsements, collaborating with Claims, Risk Engineering, Actuarial, and Operations, supporting cross-marketing within the HDI Specialty Division, and maintaining up-to-date product/market knowledge through training and research.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of commercial casualty underwriting experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial casualty insurance with a focus on construction-related exposures (general liability, auto, excess liability)
- Advanced underwriting skills for complex operations, contractual risk transfer, and loss trends
- Financial and actuarial fluency with experience analyzing financial statements, rating models, and claims data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with underwriting platforms or CRM tools
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills; ability to present to brokers, clients, and senior leadership
