Job Summary
Casualty Claims Specialist responsible for investigating and settling automobile bodily injury claims, handling complex liability claims, and managing casualty claims including injuries and coverage-related litigation. Duties include reviewing files to determine action, conducting thorough investigations, documenting policy status, coordinating with third parties, plaintiff counsel, and leadership, researching case and statutory law, notifying re-insurer on qualifying claims, preparing and presenting claim evaluations for settlement authority, and maintaining expense controls. Requires 3-5 years of casualty claims experience, knowledge of legal/medical terminology, strong negotiation and communication skills, ability to pass state examinations for licensure as a claims adjuster, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Full-time role based in Topeka, Kansas with onsite responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years in Casualty claims experience a MUST!
- Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass written examinations where required by state statutes to become a licensed claims adjuster.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
