Job Summary
Provide direct services, support, and safety for shelter residents while managing support and referral services for Crisis Line and Business Line callers. Apply robust communication, active listening, and conflict resolution skills to handle emotionally stressful situations, utilizing social perceptiveness and ethical judgment. Compile data and develop statistical reports while managing time and tasks independently or within a team. Maintain flexibility in a rapidly changing environment, working shiftwork and physically demanding tasks such as shoveling snow and lifting 50 pounds. Speak Cree and/or Dene, and hold relevant certifications including First Aid, CPR, and Motivational Interviewing. Submit a cover letter, resume, and three references to Human Resources, including your Vulnerable Sector Check, by the August 9, 2026 deadline.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid Saskatchewan Driver's license
- Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Ability to work shiftwork
- Physically able to stand for long periods of time
- Physically able to shovel snow
- Physically able to walk up and down stairs
- Physically able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to speak Cree and/or Dene
- Experience in a human service field
- Knowledge of resources within the community & methods of access
- Completed a Post-Secondary Education
- First aid certificate
- CPR certificate
- Foodsafe certificate
- Mental Health First Aid certificate
- ASIST certificate
- Sexual Assault First Responder certificate
- Motivational Interviewing (1 & 2) certificates
Desired Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education in Social Work
- Post-Secondary Education in Human Justice
- Post-Secondary Education in another relevant human services field
