Job Summary
Assist the Director of Care in planning, developing, and evaluating resident care quality by delivering shift reports, performing nursing assessments, and administering medications per physician orders. Carry out constant surveillance of residents for physical and emotional well-being, chart unusual symptoms, and liaise with physicians, agencies, and families as required. Order, store, and manage treatment supplies in compliance with Riverstone RC policies and College of Nurses standards while providing orientation to new hires, residents, and staff. Manage departmental operations in the absence of the Director, including staffing, equipment breakdowns, and supply ordering. Complete required audits and reports. Requires current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, Medication Administration Certification, CPR/First Aid, and two years of geriatric experience. Casual role at $34.55/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Medication Administration Certification
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Two years or more experience, preferably in a geriatric setting
- Excellent communication skills
- Supervisory skills
- Emergency management skills
- Added nursing skills
- Ability to manage department in the absence of Director of Care, in areas such as staffing, equipment breakdown, supply ordering and receiving
