Job Summary
Implement recreation and life enrichment programs that meet the physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual needs of residents while ensuring a commitment to safety. Prepare, implement, and evaluate programs, maintaining resident attendance records and leading individual or group leisure pursuits. Record accurate data per charting protocol, communicate with the interdisciplinary team and volunteers, and accompany residents off-site to ensure safety. Attend education sessions, assist with quality assurance audits, and report near misses, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in Recreation Aide
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification
- Class 4 Driver's License
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills
- Strong ability to communicate with and understand the changing needs of Residents' living in long term care
- Ability to make decisions and be accountable for those decisions
- Proven ability to prioritize and organize workload
- Team building skills
- Ability to facilitate resolution of problems/conflicts
