Job Summary
Assist clients with activities of daily living, personal care, and health care tasks delegated by licensed professionals. Prepare meals, manage housekeeping, and handle shopping while ensuring clients remain safe and comfortable. Relay insights to health care professionals to improve client safety and wellbeing, and creatively solve problems to enhance quality of life. Report and document necessary items appropriately and in a timely fashion while following supervisor direction and training. Perform duties diligently with compassion and professionalism within your scope of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Health Care Aide certificate (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- CPR/BCLS certification required
- Must speak, read, and write English fluently
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with mental health an asset
- Minimum 1-year experience in a clinical setting is considered an asset
- Basic computer literacy
- Excellent communication, organizational, and team skills
- High attention to detail and thoroughness
- Ability to provide compassion, empathy, and understanding to the client
- Ability to problem solve through critical thinking and self-education
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including knowledge of appropriate ergonomics
- Ability to learn and receive training in areas you may have knowledge in, but no prior experience
- Enthusiastic attitude and energy to provide excellent care and service
