Job Summary
Casual Part-Time Dental Assistant providing chairside support under the EFDA framework. Duties include sterilizing instruments, infection control, preparing patients, reviewing medical history, charting in electronic dental records, performing routine laboratory tasks (pouring/trimming models, shipping to labs), assisting dentists and hygienists, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and OSHA. Requires EFDA and radiology certification, BLS, and prior dental/EFDA experience; strong communication, documentation, and attention to detail are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Radiology and EFDA certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or ability to be certified and maintain certification upon hire
- Dental or EFDA experience required
- Experience with electronic dental records required
- Knowledge of dental procedures and procedure codes required
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, staff, and external partners, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to accurately maintain and interpret records related to patient care and dental services
- Ability to be cross-trained as a Dental Patient Services Representative
