Job Summary
Casual Outreach Worker to provide outreach support to clients referred to Connective by Community Living British Columbia, enabling their adjustment to life in the community. Responsibilities include receiving referrals, researching background material, and helping to assess needs to postulate intervention possibilities; supporting individuals in housing/residential settings; developing mutually agreed intervention and support plans with measurable goals; ensuring daily living issues (housing, nutrition, clothing, hygiene, leisure, employment, education) are addressed; addressing clients’ legal, mental, and physical health issues within the plan; delivering a wide range of interventions to help clients achieve goals; coordinating with professionals, family members, and organizations to ensure services are in the client’s best interest; maintaining extensive records and monthly progress reports; participating in staff and tenant/staff meetings; and other duties as negotiated. Requirements include Diploma or Certificate in Social Services (preferred), experience with diverse client needs, crisis response ability, understanding of services for vulnerable populations, and English communication skills. Must be able to pass reference checks, Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check, First Aid (BC), possess a Class 5 driver’s license, have reliable personal transportation for client transport, and meet vaccination requirements as mandated. Compensation starts at $27.54/hour with benefits; includes inclusion and non-profit workplace supports. Employee hours may include evenings/weekends and flexible scheduling.
