Job Summary
Inspect and provide custodial services within the Leisure Centre Complex, parks, playgrounds, and arena. Assist with park inspections, repairs, and maintenance, while clearing snow around sidewalks and parking areas. Erect and dismantle staging, move furniture for events, and assist in installing ice surfaces. Operate District equipment including trucks, tractors, mowers, and ice resurfacers as trained. Provide supervision of the arena complex and ice surface during activities. Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance team.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
- Demonstrable exemplary customer service skills
- Ability to perform custodial services with a high degree of care and diligence
- Ability to work independently
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, undertake labour intensive tasks, work in awkward positions and confined spaces, frequently stand and walk throughout the day and work in inclement weather
Desired Qualifications
- Current Basic First Aid & WHMIS certification
- Refrigeration Safety Awareness Certificate or Higher Certification
- Basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and maintenance skills and knowledge
