Job Summary
Provide nursing care to clients in accordance with BCCNM standards by administering medications, monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and developing care plans. Collaborate with healthcare providers, families, and team members to implement support strategies while documenting health information and ensuring a safe environment. Maintain infection control protocols and complete required assessments for physical and mental health. This casual role requires availability for 21 shifts (7 days) or 15 shifts (5 days) per month, including overnight rotations. Candidates must hold current BCCNM registration, a practical nursing program completion, and valid First Aid/CPR certification. Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Health care related experience, preferably in seniors' care, including dementia, geriatrics and Acquired Brain Injury
- Experience in the areas of Community Living and Licensed Care
- Experience in case planning, trauma-informed care, and psychosocial rehabilitation
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Knowledge of relevant healthcare laws and regulations
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Ability to successfully complete a Criminal Records Check
- Ability to successfully complete reference check
- Ability to provide a record of work history
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Proof of vaccination for communicable diseases
- Ability to walk up and down stairs
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform First Aid, CPR, and Naloxone administration
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
- Ability to complete general housekeeping duties (i.e., sweeping, mopping, wiping areas, laundry, changing light bulbs)
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to confirm availability for 21 shifts (7 days) per month (7 overnight), or 15 shifts (5 days) per month (5 overnight)
