Job Summary
Transport and safely transfer patients between departments, within the operating suite, and to/from nearby hospitals. Maintain cleanliness in perioperative areas including floors, walls, shelving, and tearooms. Handle and deliver equipment between departments while managing soiled linen, biomedical, and general waste in compliance with PPE protocols. Clean patient care areas such as recovery and theatre spaces. This casual role offers flexible shift options including night duty across four Melbourne sites.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate III Health Services Assistant
- The ability to work autonomously and within a Team
- Physically fit
- Excellent communication, with the ability to relate to patients and staff
- An awareness of patient confidentiality and application of relevant privacy legislation
- Previous training in Manual Handling and/or safe lifting techniques
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Criminal record and/or child protection checks
- Compliance with SVHA Staff Health Screening Immunisation Policy, including mandatory immunisations/vaccinations (including flu vaccinations)
