Job Summary
Conduct site patrols on foot or in a motor vehicle to ensure personnel, building, and equipment security. Monitor the environment for safety infractions, report irregularities such as security breaches or emergency situations, and enforce safety and emergency procedures. Control traffic and pedestrian flow at site access points while maintaining strict confidentiality of data. Respond to inquiries, contact emergency responders as required, and provide assistance to individuals in need. Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to document site logs and make immediate decisions under pressure. Maintain composure during emergencies with minimal supervision and promote a culture of safety and respect among co-workers.
Required Qualifications
- Availability for variety of shifts including overnight shifts and weekends
- Ability to obtain Alberta Security License
- Valid class 5 license and own vehicle
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills while remaining professional with a tactful and friendly demeanor
- Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain site logs
- Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency situations with minimal supervision
- Discretion when handling confidential and private information
- Ability to perform under pressure and in adversity
- Ability to walk 18-20 km and climb stairs
- Authorized to legally work in Canada
- First Aid
- CPR Level C
