Job Summary
Casual Family Worker role supporting the 0–12 Family Service across multiple CBC children's centres. Responsibilities include providing universal family support, facilitating group-based interventions, delivering early help services, coordinating drop-in sessions, crèches, and outreach programmes to support children's emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development. The role involves cross-centre collaboration, planning and delivering activities, ensuring safeguarding and child welfare, and enabling families to access relevant services. A full driving licence covering manual transmission is required; flexibility to work across different centres and settings is essential. Salary aligns with pro-rata UK pay scales (£26,824-£28,142 per annum pro rata) and is delivered as a fixed-permanent, part-time casual arrangement. Safeguarding disclosure checks apply, and visa sponsorship is not offered. The post is linked to the Best Start in Life Family Hubs programme within the Children and Families Directorate.
Required Qualifications
- Experience of working with children and families, either individually or in group settings
- Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and practices
- Excellent organisational skills to plan, deliver, and evaluate activities and interventions
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies
- Access to a driving licence that covers use of manual vehicles
