Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, operate construction, excavation, earthmoving and road clearing equipment rated at 80 HP and/or 6,900 kg or more in a safe and efficient manner. Reports to Public Works Operations Manager; casual status with hours determined by staffing needs; union involvement (IBEW Local 1730); valid license requirements and background checks as part of pre-start process; duties include handling trucks, loader, grader, bulldozer, small backhoe, sidewalk machine, landfill compactor, and related equipment as determined by the employer.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma
- Three (3) years previous work experience directly related to equipment operation and maintenance.
- Have and maintain a valid Class "D" driver's licence with a "Z" endorsement for air brake vehicles.
