Job Summary
Conduct relief teaching across sessional kindergartens in Melbourne's Northern and Western suburbs, supporting children with additional needs while implementing play-based learning aligned with EYLF. Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences for diverse groups of children, maintaining flexibility to travel between locations and accept 8-hour shifts starting around 8:00 am. Work at least two days per week as a casual educator, ensuring child safety and wellbeing in inclusive environments. This role offers opportunities to move into permanent positions and includes access to professional development, wellbeing initiatives, and a dedicated Relief Team Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
- Hold an ACECQA-approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification
- Hold current VIT registration or are eligible for registration
- Have a minimum of 1 year of experience working as an ECT in a sessional kindergarten or kindergarten room within an ELC
- Are confident and experienced in supporting children with additional needs
- Have a strong understanding of the EYLF, play-based learning, observation, documentation and intentional teaching
- Are confident in planning and implementing engaging learning experiences for children
- Are flexible and willing to travel between Sparkways kindergartens across the Northern and/or Western regions to support relief needs
- Are available at least 2 days per week to accept casual shifts
- Are able to accept 8-hour shifts, generally starting around 8.00 am
- Are described as child-centred, dependable, confident, competent, positive and energetic
- Enjoy working with different groups of children, educators and teachers
- Are passionate about providing high-quality early childhood education and supporting children's learning and development
