Casual Court Monitor

Job Summary
Monitors are responsible for recording proceedings and producing an annotation or log of those proceedings to aid in the process of accurate transcription. Proceedings may take place on site in courtrooms or at client premises, or may be recorded from an Epiq office. Monitors must be able to maintain clear communication with both clients and colleagues via various channels. They also must work collaboratively with other Court Reporting teams to facilitate the successful delivery of service for our clients. Essential duties include producing high quality audio recordings of hearings, creating accurate annotations, ensuring correct spellings of names and places, liaising professionally with clients, utilizing recording technologies (Liberty, FTR, VIQ), maintaining records of hearing times and travel times, uploading and converting audio as required, and willingness to travel to regional locations. Candidates should be able to work outside of standard hours, participate in performance reviews and mandatory trainings, and perform related duties as directed. The role emphasizes safe work practices, clear and concise communication, and meeting business requirements while supporting a positive team environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Basic office administration experience (6 months to 1 year)
- Strong communication and attention to detail
- Ability to work outside standard business hours if required
