Job Summary
Correctional Officers supervise inmates in correctional facilities and court complexes, carry out daily duties per legislation and CSNSW/DCJ policies to ensure safety, security and rehabilitation of inmates, conduct searches and detection activities to remove contraband, manage inmate requests, and supervise offender activities across designated zones. The role includes a 12-week paid training course, opportunities for career development, and a focus on safety, equity, and efficient practice. Location: Lismore Court, NSW, Australia.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 18 years
- Current Valid Driver's Licence
- Obtainment of MR license within 3 months from date of appointment
- Australia or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Willing to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practise
- Meet medical standards to be a correctional officer and have reasonable level of fitness
- Dress Manual policy prohibiting body art or modifications on visible areas beyond fastened collar or buttoned cuffs
