Job Summary

Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to menus and food safety regulations, adapting practices to meet special dietary needs and minimize waste through resourceful use of donations. Supervise students, volunteers, or residents in work therapy when the Food Services Manager is absent, and order food supplies as needed. Maintain adherence to safety protocols for equipment and food security while performing minor financial transactions. This casual/on-call role requires weekend availability and up to 30% travel time. Candidates must hold Cook's papers and possess one to three years of institutional cooking experience.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • Specialized courses of up to six (6) months
  • Cook's papers (1 year course)
  • One to three years of prior related experience
  • At least one year of institutional cooking experience
  • Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully
  • Original copy of a Background Check screening
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds
  • Immunization for Hepatitis B
  • Vaccination against Tuberculosis
