Job Summary
Oversee end-to-end statutory, financial, and tax reporting for Castrol Spain and Portugal, ensuring accurate period-end close, audit coordination, and compliance with local regulations. Lead direct and indirect tax processes including corporate income tax, withholding tax, and VAT, while managing ERP systems and liaising with external auditors and tax authorities. Coordinate cross-border reporting, dependency reports, and intercompany billing for Royalty and Residual Fees, acting as the primary interface for internal partners and external stakeholders. Drive continuous efficiency improvements in Finance and Tax processes and support treasury activities and bank relationship management. Maintain robust control environments and risk mitigation strategies across the IBERIA region.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Tax, Law, Economics, Finance or Accounting
- MBA in Finance and Tax
- Comparable qualification to the above degrees
- Evidenced courses and certification in the tax regulatory framework
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Good command of Spanish or Portuguese
- Other European languages (advantage)
- Strong affiliation with the legislative framework
- Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory developments
- Good understanding of replenishment, product movement and sales procedures
- Related customs and tax processes
- Practical experience in handling external financial, tax or other statutory inspections and controls
- Experience interacting with representatives from public authorities
- Very good knowledge of HGB
- Very good knowledge of IFRS
- Good knowledge of the processing of general ledger transactions
- Preparation of annual financial statements (HGB and IFRS)
- Portuguese Certified Accountant (Contabilista Certificado / OCC)
- Act as SPA for Castrol Portugal statutory submissions and tax authority filings
- DMR, ECSL, VAT, Stamp Duty, Modelo 10, Modelo 30, CESE, IES, etc.

- Knowledge of SAP (PRE, PRK, FI, CO, BW, BCS and FBW)
- Knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of financial accounting according to IFRS
- Knowledge of local GAAP
- Knowledge of Group reporting systems and standards
- Experience in tax and accounting with an international orientation
- Experience in Statutory and Group Reporting across Finance, including Controlling, Tax, Business Finance and Indirect Tax
- Experience in general and/or financial accounting
- Experience in statutory accounts under Spanish GAAP
- Experience in statutory accounts under Portuguese GAAP
- Hands-on experience with Portuguese and Spanish tax authorities' platforms (Portal Autoridade Tributária, AEAT, Bank of Spain, Mercantile Register)
- Audit coordination with Deloitte
