Job Summary
Apply, modify, repair, and remove casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic devices under the direction of a physician or qualified healthcare provider. Perform Medical Assistant functions to support patient intake, examinations, treatments, procedures, documentation, and efficient clinic operations. Collaborate with physicians, advance practice providers, nurses, and other team members to provide safe, coordinated, and age-appropriate care to patients and families. Requires two years of clinical support experience as a Medical Assistant or Cast Technician, including patient assessments and orthopedic casting. First shift position at Prosper Orthopedics within the Cook Children's network.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience providing clinical support as a Medical Assistant or Cast Technician
- Experience with patient assessments
- Experience performing orthopedic casting
- Experience with splinting
- Experience with bracing
- High school diploma or GED
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
