Job Summary
Turner’s Outdoorsman is hiring a Cashier to process store transactions accurately at the point-of-sale, handle payments and returns, provide friendly customer service, and assist with merchandising. Responsibilities include operating the cash register, scanning items, processing payments and returns, providing receipts, restocking and maintaining a clean checkout area, following procedures for coupons and gift cards (including firearms-related purchases), collaborating with teammates to meet sales goals, promoting current promotions, answering product questions, creating customer orders, and completing all firearms paperwork in compliance with legal requirements while maintaining firearm safety. The role may involve loading/unloading of trucks, assisting with stock deliveries, and supporting loss prevention efforts. A flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings is required; high school diploma or GED and basic computer skills are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Legally eligible to work in a firearm environment
- High School graduate or GED certificate
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Work experience as a Retail Cashier preferred but not required
- Familiarity with cash register or other point-of-sale system (POS)
- Prior retail or sales experience preferred but not required
- Nice-to-have Knowledge about Hunting, Fishing, or Shooting sports is preferred
- Basic PC knowledge and grasp instruction to new software programs
