Job Summary
Greet customers, process cash register transactions, and handle returns or exchanges while suggesting add-on merchandise. Direct shoppers to merchandise locations, manage special orders, and fill out defective slips for credit. Assist with stocking shelves, receiving inventory, pricing, and tagging items to keep displays neat. Perform general store upkeep including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning restrooms or counters. Lift heavy items up to 50 lbs., walk frequently, and stand for extended periods. Handle customer complaints professionally and maintain security measures. Work required shifts including nights and weekends with competitive match on 401K and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to, or ability to learn how to answer phones, do filing, ten-key, typing, and cash register functions
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to do basic math, and light bookwork
- Ability to carry out maintenance and some constructing of items
- Ability to draft and interpret correspondence, memos, and reports
- Reliable, accountable, and presentable
- Positive attitude, friendly, honest and patient
- Must be able to work required shifts including nights and weekends
- Maintain attendance standards
- Vision adequate for the incumbent to perform the responsibilities and functions of the job efficiently
- Manual dexterity to manually operate and use a computer/cash register and/or RF
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to lift up to and over 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to squat
- Ability to firmly grasp
- Ability to talk and hear
- Ability to work in conditions ranging from cold below 32 degrees to heat above 100 degrees
- Ability to wear protective devices from time to time
Desired Qualifications
- 3-12 months of cashier or retail experience preferred
