Job Summary
Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize and total customer purchases while receiving payment and assisting with bagging. Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately. Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases, manage check-stand merchandising, and ensure proper use of product identification and PLU's. Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and the sale of alcohol and tobacco products. Maintain a clean and well-stocked department while adhering to safety, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of prior retail or related experience
- Good verbal communication skills
- Good customer service and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to work in a varied temperature retail store environment
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Ability to comply with Company policies regarding security, cash handling/cash drawer accounting procedures, product handling, the sale of alcohol and tobacco products
- Ability to comply with Company safety and sanitation procedures and standards
- Ability to follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines
- Ability to follow Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations
- Ability to follow guest experience guidelines
Desired Qualifications
