Job Summary
Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases, receive payment, and assist in bagging purchases while delivering courteous customer service. Process transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, SNAP/WIC, loyalty programs, rain checks, and coupons in accordance with policy. Weigh and bag purchases, understand check-stand equipment, and maintain front-end merchandising. Ensure proper use of PLUs and report pricing or signage errors. Communicate store programs and in-store specials to customers and uphold safety, cash-handling, and product-handling policies. Maintain a clean, stocked department and assist with stocking as needed. Follow PPE, safety, and food-safety guidelines; may be assigned tasks in other departments as needed. Equal opportunity employer; no visa sponsorship for this position.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- One year retail or related experience preferred
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
- Good customer service and organizational skills
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
