Job Summary
Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases; handle a variety of products and transactions (cash, checks, credit cards, SNAP/WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, coupons) accurately; weigh and bag purchases; understand check-stand equipment; maintain front-end duties including merchandising and promotional communication; ensure proper PLU usage; report pricing or signage errors; follow store programs, in-store specials, and coupons; uphold Company policies on security, cash handling, and safety; may assist with stocking; adhere to PPE and safety guidelines and food-safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- One year of prior retail or related experience preferred.
- Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
- Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.
