Job Summary
Welcome customers, determine orders, and process transactions in the SAIT Begin Dining Hall cafeteria. Relay orders to kitchen staff, ensure timely delivery, and manage cash drawer counts and checks. Accept cash, issue receipts, and record customer suggestions while maintaining a clean eating and service space. Assist kitchen staff as needed and respond to inquiries with a focus on class and care. This role supports Hotel Arts Group's mission to redefine student dining with diverse, nutritious meals in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years' previous customer experience in a similar role
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and positive in high tempo, difficult stressful situations
- Must be able to lift, pull, push up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for 8+ hours/day
- Be a strong team player
- Ability to fluently communicate in verbal and written English
- Valid Food Handing Safety & Sanitation Certificate
- High School Diploma
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Exchange, Word, Excel)
- Open and flexible availability for scheduling
- Applicants who do not already have legal permission to work in Canada will not be considered
Desired Qualifications
- A fast-paced environment; large volume or cafeteria experience is preferred but not crucial
