Job Summary
Operate the cash register and perform all related checkout procedures in a fast, efficient, and accurate manner. Assist guests by providing knowledge of product locations, explaining Ad items, special prices, and coupon deals. Comply with ID policies on checks, tobacco, and alcohol, and implement security and cash drawer accounting procedures as directed. Notify proper personnel of pricing errors or items not found in the file. Maintain good working relationships with store team members to improve sales storewide while promoting a high level of morale. This role requires basic math skills, the ability to lift up to 50lbs, and a minimum age of 19. Tobacco and Alcohol certifications are required, with bi-lingual ability preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Tobacco and Alcohol Certified
- Applicable cashier duty certifications
- Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand the spoken word
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals
- Basic math skills
- Basic math skills using units of money, weight, measurement, volume addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Understanding of gross projections, transmittals, weekly summaries, invoices, transfers, labor goals, inventory, and other paperwork
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs or more
- 19 years of age
